Instructional media refers to the various materials and tools used by teachers or instructors to facilitate the teaching and learning process. Instructional media can be in the form of traditional materials such as textbooks, chalkboards, and printed handouts, as well as modern tools like computers, tablets, and interactive whiteboards.
The use of instructional media helps to enhance the learning experience of students by making it more engaging, interactive, and effective. Different types of instructional media can be used for different learning purposes, such as visual aids for helping students understand complex concepts, interactive media for promoting active learning, and multimedia tools for creating an immersive learning environment.
Overall, instructional media plays a crucial role in facilitating the learning process, providing teachers and students with the tools and resources they need to succeed. By using a variety of instructional media, teachers can help students to develop a deeper understanding of complex topics, improve their critical thinking skills, and foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

There are several instructional media that can be used for teaching and learning, including:
- Textbooks
- Supplementary books
- Reference books
- Magazines and newspapers
- Documents and clippings
- Duplicated materials
- Programmed materials
- Motion picture films
- Television programs
- Recordings (tape and disk)
- Transparencies
- Filmstrips
- Slides
Each of these media has its own advantages and limitations and can be used to achieve different instructional objectives. The choice of media will depend on the specific learning goals, the characteristics of the learners, and the instructional context.
Q3. Explain briefly the integration of media in teaching and learning sequence?
The integration of media in teaching and learning sequence involves incorporating different types of media into each of the five phases of the teaching-learning process. The five phases are the introduction phase, development phase, organizational phase, summary phase, and evaluation phase.
During the introduction phase, materials that raise questions, excite interest, and provide an interesting overview are used. These materials also allow the trainees to demonstrate their present knowledge or skill in the subject.
In the development phase, materials that provide essential data for answering questions as they arise are used. The goal is to locate and study informational materials, and both individual and group work is done toward the solution of problems.
In the organizational phase, materials are used to provide an integrated review of studies to fill in gaps in understanding and to prepare for presentations of findings during the summary phase.
In the summary phase, a series of unit culmination activities are conducted. This may involve individual and committee presentations, visual displays, dramatizations, and discussions for the purpose of summarizing major ideas, generalizations, or principles developed through the study.
Finally, during the evaluation phase, regular testing of trainees, evaluations of learning products, and expressions of trainee opinions are conducted to determine the continuing value of various activities and approaches used in the study. The use of nonverbal materials in evaluating understanding, appreciation, and skills is also emphasized.
